This policy describes what the site actually does today. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer, and we do not claim compliance with any specific law or certification (for example HIPAA or GDPR certification).
Summary
- No accounts and no health database.
- What you type into tools stays in your browser. It is not sent to us, advertisers or analytics.
- Saving on your device is optional and off by default. You can export or delete it at any time.

Information processed when you visit
Like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. We do not use this information to identify you or to infer health conditions.
Tools and your entries
Find My Next Step, the Small Steps Garden, the Appointment Preparation Builder, the Mood Journal and the Support Conversation Planner run entirely in your browser.
- By default, entries exist only in the open tab and disappear when you close it.
- The Mood Journal and the Small Steps Garden offer optional saving in your browser's local storage. Before you turn it on, we explain that anyone using the same browser profile may be able to see it, and that browser storage is not an encrypted medical vault.
- Exports (text or JSON files) are created on your device; nothing is uploaded.
- Nobody monitors entries, and no help is sent based on anything you type.
- Tool pages contain no advertising, analytics, pixels, session replay or heatmaps.

Search
Site search runs in your browser using a static index. Your search words are not sent to our server or to analytics and are not placed in the address bar.
Automatic translation
If you choose an automatic translation from the language menu, the page you are viewing is opened through Google Translate, and Google's privacy policy applies. This option is not offered on tools or the urgent help page.
Links to other sites
We link to independent organizations such as crisis lines and government directories. Their privacy practices apply when you visit them.
Advertising and analytics
No ads are currently shown. Ads can only ever appear on published, reviewed guides — never on tools, the urgent help page, search, or policy pages. Health information you enter is never used for advertising.
Where ads appear, they are served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services or aboutads.info.
Consent is collected with Google's certified consent management platform: visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent (and can decline) before personalized ads; visitors in applicable U.S. states can opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information.
Children
This site is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13.

- Delete saved journal or garden data from within each tool, or by clearing your browser's site data.
